Mr. Howard Ray Stiles, 84, died Monday, December 28, 2009, at his residence. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Shaffer and Mr. Walter Thompson officiating.Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Born November 3, 1925, in Gastonia, NC, Mr. Stiles was the son of the late Mattie Gertrude Stiles Hanna.He attended the schools of Gastonia, NC and Chester, SC.He was of the Baptist Faith and aU.S. Army WWII veteran having been attached to 42nd Rainbow Divison.He was retired from Springs Industries as a fixer and was a former Boy Scout Leader. Surviving are his wife of over sixty-three years, Elsie B. Stiles; caretakers, Walter Thompson of Chester and Beverly Hicks of Chester. Memorials may be made to a charity of one?s choice.
