WINSTON-SALEM,NC Mr. Hord Dean Davis, Sr., 65, died Friday, October 09, 2009 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating. Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born December 28, 1943 in Gaffney, SC, Mr. Davis was the a son of the late Adam Davis and Olivene Jolly Davis. He attended the schools of Chester County, formerly worked with Springs Industries as a fixer and was retired as a construction worker. Surviving is his wife Rhonda Moore Davis of Mt Airy, NC, one daughter, Florence ?Cricket? Davis, of Rock Hill, SC,three sons, Dean Davis, Jr. and his wife Margie and Paul Davis and his wife Susie both of Lancaster, SC , Matthew Davis of Milford, DE, two step-sons, Christopher Moore and Rowland Moore both of Mt. Airy, NC, two brothers, Charles Davis and Ned Davis both of Chester, SC, three sisters, Laura Austin of Chester, SC, Stella Carnes of Gastonia, NC, Barbara Ledford of Lowrys, SC, 12 grandchildren and 4great-grandchildren. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilene Davis and Peggy Davis and a brother C.L. ?Bud? Davis. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home.
