Edgemoor, SC Henry Thomas Westbrook (Tommy) born November 19, 1939, age 82, passed away on January 11, 2022. A memorial service will be held on January 14 at 1:00 PM located at the Edgemoor ARP Church Cemetery officiated by Pastor Bob Elliott. Tommy was the son of the late A.G. Westbrook and Susie Thomas Westbrook, and was a lifetime member, deacon, then elder of Edgemoor ARP Church. Tommy was born in Chester County and lived in Edgemoor, SC all his life.He graduated from Lewisville High School in 1958.After graduation he joined the United States Marines.While serving in the Marines, he took leave to marry the love of his life, Linda Culp Westbrook. After the Marines, he went to work for Dupont where he worked until he retired at the early age of 52. He grew up as a farmer in Edgemoor and took up farming full time after his retirement.Tommy enjoyed life to the fullest.He was known as a great horseshoe pitcher all over the state and was the state champion for 14 years and a two-time Senior World Champion.He enjoyed traveling to horseshoe tournaments all over the country with Linda, his sister, Jane, and good friend, Julius, where they made many lasting friendships. He also enjoyed farming with his son, Jimmy, and brother, Grier.His most recent joy was helping take care of his great granddaughter, Reagan. He preferred the outdoors and taught his three children to do the same.He taught them how to work hard and enjoy life.As a reward, he often took them fishing when they were young, in which they all 3 still take joy in doing together to this day. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Linda; three children, Marie Gaston (Joey) of Richburg, SC, Jimmy Westbrook of Edgemoor, SC, and JoAnne Beckwith (Don) of Rembert, SC; seven grandchildren, JoBeth Holmes (Andrew), Maggie Gaston, Annie Gaston, Gage Westbrook, Zach Westbrook, Paul Beckwith, Katelyn Beckwith and two great grandchildren.He is also survived by one brother, Grier Westbrook (Jean) of Catawba, SC, two sisters, Jane Jordan (Gene) of Chester, SC, and Molly Coleman (Bob) of Greenville, SC, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Westbrook of Edgemoor, SC. He was preceded in death by his brother, William (Billy) Westbrook. The family would like to thank all the staff at Piedmont Medical Center Gold Hill, Piedmont Medical Rock Hill, and the Wayne T. Patrick House for the excellent care and compassion that was shown during his stay.
