Native to western North Carolina-a proud southern Appalachian man with a big friendly smile-Henry “Doodle” Wilburn Taylor was born and raised by Naomi and Charles Morton on February 7, 1961. With them, he had five brothers, two sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews he loved dearly. He spent most of his life with his beloved wife Caroline ‘Rachel’. In that full life, he had nine children Jesse Wayne, LaDonna, Christian, Caroline II, Derrick, Hope, Justin, Jessica, and Amber. He was a dedicated “paw-paw” to his grandchildren-they are his legacy. Henry died at age 62, just before sunrise Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023. He lived life the way he wanted to, to the fullest, until the end. He was a tree surgeon by trade and loved the outdoors-a true nature lover. On any giving day you would find him in the yard working or in his man cave. He was a history buff that loved to travel and learn. Henry was a dedicated and reliable soul that anyone could call on for help-he was authentic-a loyal friend. A friend to the end. He was loved and will be missed greatly with fond memories by many. The family will receive friends to celebrate his life on Sunday April 16, 2023; from 2 to 4 pm. Service will be at Fishing Creek Presbyterian Church, Chester County. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Fishing Creek Presbyterian, 3087 Fishing Creek Church Road, Chester, SC 29706, his church that he loved and felt strongly about.
