EDGEMOOR, SC ? Mrs. Helen Pittman Morton, 87, ofEdgemoor died Friday, July 10, 2009 at her residence. The funeral will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Harmony Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Mellenchamp officiating.Interment will be in the church cemetery. Born August 5, 1922 in Edgemoor, SC, Mrs. Morton was the daughter of the late John Pittman and Mae Nichols Pittman.She was a graduate of Edgemoor High School and retired from Belks Department Store in Rock Hill, SC.She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church for over eighty years. Surviving are four sons, Jack Morton, Jr. and his wife Connie, John Morton and his wife Linda, Ron Morton and his wife Linda and Barry Morton and his wife Tina all of Edgemoor, SC; one sister, Mary Farris of Edgemoor, SC; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren and caregivers Lynn Morton, Helen Morton and Barbara Salazar.She was preceded in death by a son David Morton, a brother William M. Pittman, a daughter-in-law Terry Morton and a grandson John Travis Hempton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC.
