CHESTER Mrs. Helen Joyce Newton McAteer, 74, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Saluda Street Church of God with Rev. Jimmy Cox officiating. Born on February 13, 1937 in York County, SC, Mrs. McAteer, was the daughter of the late Harvey Parks Newton and Ola Isom Newton.She attended the schools of York County in Rock Hill, SC and was a member of Armenia United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Eddie McAteer of Chester and his wife Denise; three daughters, Cynthia McMurray and her husband Doug of Ricbhurg, SC, Sherry Morris and her husband Robert of Chester and Debbie Holder of Salisbury, NC; three sisters, Peggy Quinn of York, SC, Betty Elkins of Rock Hill, SC and Ann Connolly of York, SC; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by one son, Harvey Parks Holder andtwo brothers, Bobby Newton and Ronald Newton.
