CHESTER Mr. Hazel Sylvester Robinson, Sr., 82, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center.A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Martha R. Hatchell, 119 W. Lacy Street, Chester. Born October 5, 1929 at Great Falls, SC, Mr. Robinson, was a son of the late John Stoy Robinson and Minnie Lee Broome Robinson.He attended the schools of Chester County.Mr. Robinson was retired from Duke Energy and previously worked with Springs Industries and served twenty-one years in the SC National Guard. He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Blonnie Ledford Robinson; three sons, Hazel S. Robinson, Jr. and his wife Susan, John D. Robinson and his wife Donna and Homer L. Robinson all of Chester; one daughter, Martha Robinson Hatchell of Chester and one grandson Kevin Neil Robinson of Great Falls, SC.He was preceded in death by one daughter, Deborah Carol Robinson and a grandson Cory James Robinson.
