Hazel Mcmahan Mcwatters

Chester, SC: Hazel Yvonne McMahan McWatters, 82, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home. A Memorial Service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Orrs Baptist Church with Reverends Daniel Wightman and Curtis Marshall officiating. The family will receive friends also Wednesday from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the church. Interment will be private. Mrs. McWatters was born in York County, SC on August 10, 1939 and was a daughter of the late William Williford McMahan and Naomi Ruth Rutledge McMahan. She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries after over twenty-five years of service. Hazel was a member of Orrs Baptist Church. She enjoyed shagging and country and gospel music. Mrs. McWatters also enjoyed traveling and cruising and the fine cuisine that was offered on those trips. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband of over forty-five years Albert Erskine McWaters, her brothers, Doc and Wesley McMahan and her sister, Racheal Pitts. She is survived by three children, Naomi Jeanette "Jan" Kee of Chester, SC, Albert Erskine "Erk" McWatters (Robin) of Fort Lawn, SC and Sherry Yvonne Boggs of Chester, SC; six grandchildren, Randy (Jennifer), Erik (Jennifer), Scott (Carrie) Joshua (Brittany), Alex and Andrew; eleven great- grandchildren, River, Toby, Paisely, David, Thomas, Brantley, McKenzie, Ethan, Bentley, Peyton and Emma; her sister, Annie Mae Craig and brother Joe W. McMahan both of Chester, SC and her niece which was her namesake, Hazel Yvonne McMahan Bagley of Chester, SC and numerous other nieces and nephews.
