Hazel Louise Gheen Cato

Beaufort: Hazel Louis Gheen Cato, 89, died at her home, Wednesday, May 14, 2014. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 23, 2014 at Saluda Street Church of God, Chester with Reverend Joe Vickers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home. . Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cato was born June 28, 1924 at Rock Hill. She was the last surviving child of Charlie F. Gheen and Lillie Mable Byars Gheen. She was a retired textile worker at the Eureka Plant of the former Springs Mills, Inc.. and a member of Saluda Street Church of God. She is survived by a son, Jim Cato of Beaufort, daughters-in-law Susan Cato of Beaufort and Terry Cato of Chester, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Cato, a daughter, Martha Ann Cato, and a son, Charlie Wayne Cato; four brothers, Junior Gheen, Johnny Gheen, Fred Gheen, Herbert Gheen, and four sisters,Betty Faye Gheen Fowler, Sadie Foutz, Mildred Woodle and Lillie Mae Burrell.
