William Wight.The family will receive friends from 2:00 ? 3:00 Tuesday at St. Mark?s Episcopal Church, 132 Center Street, Chester. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery. Born July 26, 1914, in Columbia, SC, Mr. Knight was a son of the late Harry V. and Louise Pennington Bailey Knight.He was a graduate of Chester High School.He was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII in the Pacific Theater.He began his career of over thirty years in banking with Commercial Bank of Chester, SC which later became First Citizens.He was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church where he was the oldest member in age and membership and also served as the Superintendent of Church School.Mr Knight was the widower of Mary Durham Knight. He is survived by one son Richard B. Knight and his wife Tina; one daughter, Harriett ?Penny? Moore and her husband George all of Chester; two granddaughters, Kimberly L. Bates and husband Derek of Lake Wateree, SC and Debra L. Stidham and husband Bill of Winnsboro, SC; four great granddaughters, Stephanie, Mary Ann, Katie, Jessie and two great-great grandsons, Trent and Jordan.He was preceded in death by a son Harry Durham ?Skipper? Knight and one sister, Elizabeth Knox and a brother Wallace B. Knight.
