CHESTER, SC: Mr. Harold Delano Hopper, 80, died June 2, 2017 at his home.A visitation will be held6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home and also 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM Monday, June 5, 2017 at Parkway Baptist Church.The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 5, 2017 with Rev. Jay Dorsey officiating.The interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born November 1, 1936 in Lockhart, SC, Mr. Hopper was a son of the late Elbert and Georgie Sealy Hopper.He was a graduate of the schools of Chester County and York Technical College. He was a veteran of the US Naval Air Force and was retired Plant Manager of Shugart Manufacturing.He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where he was former Chairman of Deacons, Sunday School Teacher and choir member.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Elbert Hopper, Jr. and one sister, Margaret Hopper Hall. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Barbara Ledford Hopper; one daughter, Debbie Roof of Chester; one son, Harold Roger Hopper (Lorie) of Blythewood, SC;six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
