CHESTER, SC: Rev. Harmon Smith, Jr., 93, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at his home.The funeral service will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Herbie Butler, Rev. Ernest Sisk and Rev. David Black officiating.The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens with full military honors.The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Barron Funeral Home. Born March 14, 1922 in Chester, SC Rev. Smith was the son of the late Harmon Smith, Sr. and Grace Hoggard Smith.He was a graduate of Chester High School and also an ordained minister.He was a retiredveteran of the United States Armed Forces having served in both the Army and the Air Force during WWII and the Korean Conflict.He was a member of Harvest Time Ministries and also Church of God of the Union Assembly.Rev. Smith was never married and enjoyed his life by serving others.He taught the “Golden Rule” as he lived that rule in front of others “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you” Matthew 7:12. He is survived by nieces and nephews into the third generation. The family of Will A.
