Mrs. Grace Cochran Whitt, 96, formerly of 2868 Efird Lane died Thursday, Octorber 8, 2009 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Bayliss Adimaro officiating.Interment will be private at Flora Memorial Gardens in High Point, NC. Born November 23, 1912 in Tazewell County, Virginia, Mrs. Whitt was the daughter of John and Cynthia Asbury Cochran. She attended the schools of Tazewell County, VA and was a member of the Church of Christ.She was retired from AVX in Myrtle Beach, SC.She was the last member of her family of twelve. Surviving are one daughter, Carol Efird and her husband Jeff of Blackstock, SC; one son, Barney R. Cochran of Tazewell, VA; seven grandchildren including Lisa W. Cordle of Gastonia, NC; a special friend Betty Thompson of Chester and several great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 7:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
