Gertrude Adams Davis

Mrs. Gertrude Adams Davis, 97, formerly of Chester died Monday, September 1, 2008 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. A graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 3, at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend Rick Wheeler officiating. Born in Chester on November 19, 1910, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Albert Quincy and Lena Kelly Adams.She attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries.She was an avid gardener and attended Trinity Presbyterian Church.She was the widow of Henry Van Davis. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy Lashley of Chester; three sons, Guy Davis of Spartanburg, SC, Donald Davis and Robert Davis both of Chester; three sisters, Jean Bogdanski, Mary Brooks and Martha McLeod all of Virginia Beach, Virginia; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Great Falls Highway, Chester, SC 29706.
