CHESTER, SC Mr. George Cecil Tinker, 88, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at Chester Regional Nursing Center in Chester.A graveside service will be held 4:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Bel Air United Methodist Church Cemetery in Indian Land, SC with Rev. Eric Winstead officiating. Born April 27, 1922 in Lockhart, SC, Mr. Tinker was a son of the late William Rodman Tinker and Mattie Allen Tinker.He attended the schools of Chester County.He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII and retired from commercial construction as an electrical foreman.Mr. Tinker was an ordained minister with United Christian Church and Ministerial Association.He enjoyed collecting and selling antiques and was a licensed auctioneer. He is survived by two brothers, Robert L. Tinker of Rialto, CA and Carl H. Tinker of Covington, GA; three sisters, Pauline ?Polly? Jack of Chester, SC, Mary Moen of Paynesville, MN and Shirley Schuhmacher of Rialto, CA;his nephew and caregiver, Terry Tinker and his wife Linda of Chester, SC and several additional nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by two brothers, Roy V. Tinker and James Grady Tinker; three sisters, Omalee Baumgardner, Vearle Stanley and Juanita Chappell. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
