George Roland Queen

Chester, SC: George Roland Queen, 72, died Saturday, August 24, 2013 at his home. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 26, 2013 at Barron Funeral Home with Reverend Walter Mitchum, Jr. and Reverend Kenny Compton officiating.The family will receive friends also Monday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home and other times at 545 Glenn Street, Chester, SC 29706. Interment will be private. Mr. Queen was born in Union, SC on June 23, 1941. He was a son of the late Will Queen and Bessie Frost Queen. He attended the schools of Union, SC and was retired from Omnova Chemical after over thirty-three years of service. Mr. Queen was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of over forty-four years, Brenda Sigmon Queen; three daughters, Ann Queen of Spartanburg, Tammie Emory of Greenwood, SC and Tammy Lathan Davis of Chester, SC; seven grandchildren, Robby Farmer, Brandon Farmer, Roger Gosnell, Jennifer Parks, Johnathan Emory, Megan Davis and Kyla Davis; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Queen and one sister, Mary Queen both of Union, SC. Mr. Queen was preceded in death by two sisters.
