CHESTER, SC: George Harmon Dyer, Jr. 82, died Saturday April 13, 2013 at his home. A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, April 15, 2013 in Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend William Young officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mr. Dyer was born in Richmond, VA on December 23, 1930. He was a son of the late George Harmon Dyer, Sr. and Margaret Jeter Dyer and the widower of Palmer White Dyer . He was a graduate of Highlands Springs High School Class of 1947, Highland Springs, VA and Richmond Polytechnic Institute Class of 1954. Mr. Dyer was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War and was retired from Virginia Department of Transportation. He was amember of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, Richmond, VA. Mr. Dyer is survived by three daughters: Margaret Dyer Arrowwood (David) of Holden Beach, NC, Lee Dyer Collins (Hap) of Chester, SC and Dr. Page Dyer of Varina, VA ;one granddaughter, Audrey Catherine Collins of Clemson, SC; two grandsons, Tal Arrowwood of Cary, NC and Jonathan Arrowwood of Cullowhee, NC and one sister, Margie Saulsbury of Greeneville, TN.
