Mrs. Genevieve Misenheimer Shugart, 80,died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Chester Regional Medical Center in Chester. The funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Bethel United Methodist Church with Reverend Harry Gindhart officiating. Burial will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. Born August 26, 1928 in York County, SC, Mrs. Shugart was the daughter of the late Ira Walter Misenheimer, Sr and Delia Williams Misenheimer.She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and retired from Chester County having worked with the School Board, the Auditors Office and also the Tax Assessors Office. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the widow of Henry Lester Shugart, Sr. Surviving are two sons, Les Shugart and his wife Debbie of Chester, SC and Steve Shugart and his wife Sue of Easley, SC; one daughter, Susan Owens and her husband Terry of Southern Pines, NC; seven grandchildren, Leslie Willis, Shannon Farr, Jonathan Shugart, Ginny Lynn Shugart, Anna Grace Shugart, Grant Shugart and Will Shugart; two sisters, Virginia Faulkenberry of Charlotte, NC and Ruth Faile of Rock Hill, SC.She was preceded in death by a grandson Jason Shugart and a brother Walter Misenheimer. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 ? 8:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
