Gene "J.R." Garrison

Chester Mr. Gene William “J.R.” Garrison, Jr., 57, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, August 24, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.He will be missed by all who knew him.He said he had Jesus by one hand and his daddy by the other.The family will hold a private graveside service at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mr. Garrison was born January 10, 1955 in York County, SC and was a son of Loretta Grace Harris Garrison and the late Gene W. Garrison, Sr.He was a graduate of Chester High School. In addition to his mother, Grace Garrison of Chester, he is survived by two daughters, Stacie G. Gorton and husband Marc of Ft. Lawn and Gina Garrison and husband Jason of Chester; two grandchildren, Kynlee Millen and Jay Millen of Chester; one sister, Jeannie McCormick and husband Jimmy of Chester; his fiancé, Vickie Connor of Rock Hill; one niece, Deidre Schell of Chester; one nephew, Shaun McCormick of Union; and a long-time friend, Vickie Hinson.
