Gary Louis Wissinger

CHESTER - Mr. Gary Louis Wissinger, 67, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Providence Hospital in Columbia. The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Chester, with the Revs. Darrell Rooks and Clay Waldrip officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, S.C. Mr. Wissinger was born March 25, 1945, in Flint, Mich., and was a son of the late Russell Wissinger and Marguerite Schepperley Wissinger. He was a graduate of Central High School and attended Mott Community College both in Flint, Mich., and was retired co-owner and operator of David Lee & Sons Vending. Mr. Wissinger was a member of Cedarwood Community Church in Greenwood and a former member of First Church of the Nazarene in Chester where he was choir director for a number of years. He is survived by his wife of more than 41 years, Diane Lee Wissinger; one son, Chris Wissinger and wife, Alyson of Richburg; one daughter, Mollie Hawkins and husband, Mark of Simpsonville; his mother-in-law, Ruth Hefner Lee of Chester; seven grandchildren, Haley and Hunter Wissinger of Thaxton, Va., Ben and Abby Wissinger of Fort Mill, S.C., and Saunders Hawkins, Guy Louis Hawkins and McCown Hawkins, all of Simpsonville.
