Gary Vernon Martin

Chester, SC: Gary Vernon Martin, 65, died Friday August 13, 2021 at his home. A Funeral Service will be held 4:00 PM Monday August 16, 2021 at West Chester Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Finley officiating. The family will receive friends also Monday at the church from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery . Mr. Martin was born in Chester, SC on February 27, 1956 and was a son of the late Harold Martin and Blanche McFadden Martin. Gary was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Springs Industries Eureka Plant as a Weaver. He was a member of West Chester Baptist Church and he enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing. Gary was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Dean Martin and two sisters, Brenda Martin and Cathy Wynn . He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lunette Carter Martin, three children, Crystal Smoak(Rick) of Clover, SC, Kim Wishert(Brad) of Chester, SC and Tabitha Martin of Madison, NC; six grandchildren, Dylan and Hunter Smoak, Abby, Faith, Emma, and Wyatt Wishert; one brother Steve Martin(Joyce) of Chester, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
