Garland Robert Gilchrist

Lutz, FL Mr. Garland Robert Gilchrist, 81, died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Melech Hospice House in Temple Terrance, Florida. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Bullock Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mr. Gilchrist was born January 5, 1939 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late John Frazier Gilchrist and Ira Elizabeth McDaniel Gilchrist. He was a graduate of Chester High School and Clemson College. He was a retired textile chemist and served briefly in the US Air Force. Mr. Gilchrist was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by two children Mary Lusk (Craig) of Riverview, FL and Jenny Fredrickson (Russell) of Camas, Washington; six grandchildren; Kyle, Emma, Joshua, Lauren, Alec and Ryan; one sister, Betty Odell (Walter) of Sharon, SC; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Moore Gilchrist; sister, Mary and brothers James and David. Memorials may be made to Melech Hospice House, 11125 N. 52nd Street, Temple Terrace FL, 33617.
