Rock Hill Mr. Fred Olin Stewart, Sr.,89, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was surrounded by his family as he peacefully accepted his gift of eternal life at the feet of Jesus . A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Fred was born April 12,1931 in Great Falls and was a son of the late Andrew Jackson Stewart and Lumay Jacobs Stewart. He grew up and lived most of his life in Chester. He married the love of his life Jimmie Blaylock Stewart. They recently celebrated 68 years together. He was a 1950 graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Springs Industries after 36 years of service. Mr. Stewart formerly served proudly in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He was a member of Chester Freedom Ministries and formerly Second Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Director, Choir Member and served on various committees during his many years here. He will be fondly remembered as a good and faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, a faithful doting husband, a kind and loving father and grandfather and a friend to all. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Jimmie Blaylock Stewart ; one son Fred Olin Stewart, Jr. (Sandra) of Lancaster; one daughter, Sheila Stewart (Mike Lollis) of Rock Hill; one sister, Joyce Stewart Luker (Paschal) of Lineville, AL; two granddaughters, Whitney S. Ford (David) of Chester and Andrea S. Ayers (Brandon) of Fort Lawn; three great-granddaughters, Cassidy Ford, Zoe Ford and Ansleigh Ayers; one great grandson, Raylan Ayers; brother- in -law, Carl O. Blaylock (Jean) of Columbia; special family friend Judy R. Krenzer (Rick) of Rock Hill; and his beloved dog “Beacher”.
