Mr. Frank Hope Stephenson, 83, of 1037 Tickle Hill Road, died Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Palmetto Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC. The funeral will be 3:00 PM Friday, December 26, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Lowrys with Reverend Michael P. Shaffer, Reverend Dale Roddey and Reverend Den Parker officiating. Born May 22, 1925 in Lockhart, SC, Mr. Stephenson was the son of the late Walter Holmes Stephenson, Sr and Ruth Brown Stephenson. He attended schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Grace Bleachery.He was a US Army veteran having served in Burma, India and China.He took his training in Horse Calvary at Fort Riley, Kansas.He was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church of Lowrys where he was a member of the Adult Men?s Sunday School Class, former Deacon, and member of various committees within the church. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a founding member and council member of Chester County 4-H Horse Club and North Chester Saddle Club.His hobby was horses and horse activities with his family and friends.With his love for horses and his rodeo activitieshe was able to bring together family, friends, and community. Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Frances Bramlett Stephenson; two daughters, Joyce Stephenson Baker and her husband Edward W. ?Buddy? Baker, Jr. and Nancy Stephenson Stewart and her husband Charlie Mack Stewart, Jr. both of Chester; five grandchildren, Mary Baker Mobley and her husband Clay of Fort Bragg, NC; Charles Eric Stewart and his wife Kha, Stephanie Stewart Caston and her husband Chris, Hope Baker, Whitney Baker Culton and her husband Josh all of Chester; nine great grandchildren, Tyler Mobley, Gracyn Mobley and Zayn Mobley all of Fort Bragg, NC and Quinton Caston, Landon Caston, Evan Caston, Savannah Caston, Madysen Baker and Taylor Culton all of Chester; one sister, Lillie S. Steen of Chester and one brother, Avon Lee Stephenson of Columbia, SC. The family will receive friends anytime after 1:00 PM Thursday at the home.
