Chester, SC: Frances Stephenson Howell, 86 , died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Chester Regional Nursing Center. AGraveside Service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Reverend Arthur Vick officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday Evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home. Mrs. Howell was born in Shelby, NC on July 26, 1924, a daughter of the late Henry Hugh Stephenson and Mildred Foy Stephenson. She was a graduate of Chester High School and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.Mrs. Howell retired from Chester Telephone after over forty two years of service.The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Sam Stone, Hospice Care of South Carolina, Chester Regional Nursing Center and Senior Companion Program of Chester. Mrs. Howellis survived by one daughter, Janice Howell Hastings of Chester, SC; two identical twin granddaughters, Kelly Hastings Curtice and her husband John and Shelly Hastings Palmer and her husband Tom all of Rock Hill, SC; five great-grandchildren, Michael Dunn, Bailey Curtice, Scott Palmer, Kolbe Curtice and Justin Curtice and one great-great grandson, Lee Helms all of Rock Hill, SC;one very special nephew, Steve Burch and his wife Patsy and special friend Easter Elam of Chester, SC. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, William H. Hastings, Jr.two sisters, Margaret Faye Burch and Mary Hugh Sinclair and one brother, Henry Blair Stephenson.
