Redwood City, CA Frances Viola Dow of Redwood City, California, formerly of Richburg, SC passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018.A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC with Rev David Sealy officiating .The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Barron Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery following the service. Born February 17, 1920, Frances was the daughter of the late Edward and Mamie Pettit andthe wife of the late Luther Dow.Frances was a homemaker and loved working in her flower gardens.She was an active member of her church choir until her health started to decline. Frances is survived by one son, Luther Dow (Jeanie) of Redwood City, CA; granddaughters,Jennifer Rowell (Tom) of Tracy, CA. Lyndsey Dow of San Jose, CA; great granddaughter, Lucy Rowell of Tracy, CA; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was preceded in death by a son, Edward “Eddie” Dow; a sister, Geneva Mitchell; and brothers, George Pettit, Talmadge Pettit, Ike Pettit and Gene Broome.
