Frances Mayben Blackwell

Chester Mrs. Frances Mayben Blackwell, 79, of Chester died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at her residence with her loved ones by her side. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Mike Shaffer officiating. Born in Lando, SC on April 23, 1930, Mrs. Blackwell was a daughter of the late Henry B. and Anna Bagley Mayben. She attended Chester Co. schools and was employed as a weaver in the textile industry. She was also a beautician. She is survived by her husband, Ernest R. Blackwell; one son, Terry Blackwell and wife, Tina of Chester, SC; two daughters, Sandra Weatherford of Pamplico, SC and Vickie Fletcher and husband, Frank of Chester, SC; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Mayben and wife, Frances of Chester, SC; two sisters, Sarah McSorley of New Bern, NC and Anna Lou Dove and husband, Hack (Darling) of Charleston, SC; and a special friend, Linda Blackwell. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Mayben and H.B. Mayben, Jr. and three sisters, Martha Girourd, Mary Merritt, and Bertie Lee Mayben.
