Flavis Gene Blevins

Mr. Flavis Gene Blevins, 95, died Monday, October 5, 2026 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Monday, October 12, 2026 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am also Monday at Barron Funeral Home.

Mr. Blevins was born May 16, 1941 in Russell County, VA and was the son of the late Chester Blevins and Georgia McClellan Blevins. He was a graduate of Castlewood High School in Castlewood, VA and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church where he served as sound technician and various other ministries with the church. He was also a great supporter of Salkehatchie and volunteered his time with Community organizations for those in need. Gene was an avid outdoors man and loved hunting and fishing. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was a sharpshooter.

He is survived by two daughters, Christine Langhorne (Dave) of Melbourne, FL and Angie Blevins of Clover, SC; four grandchildren, Tara Langhorne ,Alexa Menz ,Abbey Davis (Seth) and Erica Menz; two great-grandchildren, Zoey and Owen Davis and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 51 years, Vickie McClellan Blevins; one brother and three sisters.
