Faye Yarborough Alexander

Chester Mrs. Faye Yarborough Alexander, 98, died Monday, November 29, 2021 at her home. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mrs. Alexander was born November 4, 1923 in York, SC and was a daughter of the late Oscar Lee Yarborough and Carrie Lee Jones Yarborough. She was a graduate of Brockman High School in Chester, SC where she was a star basketball player. Faye worked for Springs Industries for a short while and was a homemaker.Faye loved her church and also enjoyed the Springs Golden Age Club and she was also part of Clemson Extension as a volunteer.She was a member of First Baptist Church Chester. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Alexander McKeown (Bob) of Rock Hill, SC; one son, Neil G. Alexander, Jr. of Chester, SC; five grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Alec McKeown, Grant Alexander, Caroline McKeown and Kit McKeown; seven great-grandchildren; niece, Carol Germin and nephew Scott Yarborough.Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Grant “Pee Wee” Alexander, Sr. and a son Lynn Alexander.
