Mrs. Evelyn Cranford Mathews, 82, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011.A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating.The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 7:30 PMThursday at Barron Funeral Home. Born July 15, 1929 in Lockhart, SC, Mrs. Mathews was a daughter of John H. And Ona Alice Reagan Cranford.She was a graduate of Chester High School and retired from Chester Sportswear.She was a member of Second Baptist Church.She was the widow of Claude L. Mathews, Sr. She is survived by one son, Lamar ?Jocko? Mathews and his wife Carolyn of Chester; one granddaughter, Shelley Watts of Chester; two great grandchildren, Mathew Evans and Ethan Watts both of Chester and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by four brothers, Buford Cranford, John H. Cranford, Jr., J.B. Cranford and Willie Cranford.
