Evelyn ""Cricket" Sealy Jones

ROCK HILL, SC:Mrs. Evelyn "Cricket" Sealy Jones, 88, died Friday, May 26, 2017 at Brookdale Spring Arbor.The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM Sunday, May 28, 2017 in the vestibule of First Baptist Church of Chester.The funeral service will be 4:00 PM Sunday, May 28, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Chester with Rev. Clay Waldrip, Rev. Jeff Gulish and Mr. Richard Sealy officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born April 3, 1929 in Union County, SC, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late L. B. Sealy, Sr. and Sadie Estes Sealy. She was a graduate of Chester High School Class of 1946.Mrs. Jones was retired from Springs Industries as a cloth inspector.She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chester where she taught Children’s Class for many years and was a member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class.She volunteered with Meals on Wheels for over twenty years, and was a member of Gideon’s Ladies Auxiliary for more than twenty years.She was the widow of Grady Jones, Jr. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia D. Nichols of Matthews, NC; two step-sons, Terry M. Jones(Patricia) of Lake Wateree, SC and Kenny Jones of Spartanburg, SC; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three brothers, L.B. Sealy, Jr. (Annie Mae) of Chester, SC and Walter Sealy (Barbara) and Richard Sealy (Elaine) both of Rock Hill, SC; two sisters, Kathleen Clayton (Earl) of Chester, SC and Ethel Harris of Charlotte, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
