Eunice Hood Knox

Eunice Hood Knox, 91, of Blackstock, SC passed away on October 6, 2026, at Westminster in Rock Hill, SC, with her daughters by her side. A memorial service will be held at Blackstock First Baptist Church on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 11:00 am with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Janet and Jimmy Jones in Blackstock, SC. 

Eunice graduated from Blackstock High School, where she met the love of her life, Henry Brice Knox. They were married on November 2, 1953, while he was on leave from service, and were blessed with nearly 73 years together.

 She was born in Blythewood, SC, the youngest daughter of Werner Glenn Hood and Leila Watts Hood. Her parents and eight siblings preceded her in death. Eunice played basketball in high school and enjoyed competing in local and state Senior Games. She worked at John Wolfe in Carlisle, SC, until the birth of her second child, and later served as Postmaster Relief at the Blackstock Post Office. Her family and church were the center of her life. She enjoyed sewing dresses for her daughters, making quilts, cooking, canning and freezing vegetables, fishing, picking blackberries, and sharing a good laugh. Family beach trips at Thanksgiving were a highlight each year. At Blackstock First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, and prepared the bulletins for many years. 

She is survived by her husband, Henry Brice Knox; her daughters, Linda Warner (David) of Rock Hill, and Janet Jones (Jimmy) of Blackstock; her grandson, Jacob Brice Jones; and David’s children, Samantha Warner Rohan (Devin) and Grant Warner (Kate).
