Eugene Estes Jennings

Eugene Estes Jennings passed away on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at Six Mile Retirement Center.

The funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, located at 760 Calvary Church Rd., Carlisle, SC, on Sunday, March 9th at 3PM, with his lifelong friend, Rev. David Sealy, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2PM to 3PM, preceding the service.

He was born on February 25th, 1949, in Chester, South Carolina. The son of the late Kenneth Eugene Jennings and Lucille Estes Jennings.

He attended West Chester Schools, and was a 1967 graduate of Chester High School. Gene served honorably as a radarman in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War, and then graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Forestry.

He is survived by his brother, Gary Jennings (Debbie), a nephew, Keith Jennings (Claire), two nieces, Lori Jennings, and Heather Terry (Matt), four great nephews, Evan, Nathan, Finley and Keenan Terry, and one great niece, Alena Terry.

Special thanks to his long-time friends, Jimmy Martin, and David and Wylie Ann Sealy, as well as the staff at Six Mile Retirement Center, for helping to bring joy and comfort to him throughout his life. Also, to Agape Hospice, for the care that he was given in his final days.
