Richburg, SC: Mrs. Ernestine Livingston Bedenbaugh, 90, of Chester County, SC passed awayMonday, August 9, at her home.A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Union Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, 3594 Lancaster Highway, Richburg, SC 29729.The visitation will be held immediately following the service in the Union ARP Church fellowship hall. Ernestine was born and raised in the St. Phillips community of Newberry County, and the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle Livingston, having been named after both her parents. Ernestine began playing piano at twelve years of age and held the position of pianist and organist for many years in her church.She married her sweetheart, Harold Bedenbaugh, shortly after graduating Newberry College with a degree in Elementary Education and before he was drafted in the Korean War.Upon his return from war, the couple moved to the community of Richburg, SC where they served the community and raised their family.She and her husband were charter members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church formerly located in Chester, SC before it closed.Ernestine taught school as a first-grade teacher mostly in Chester County for thirty-eight years. She continued her servant leadership at Reformation Lutheran Church in Lancaster, SC, while also active in many organizations and clubs including Richburg Red Hats, FCL, Delta Kappa Gamma and Reformation Lutheran Prayer Shawl Ministry.Her hobbies included playing the piano, reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Ernestine is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bedenbaugh; her daughter, Tina Holmes; her parents clarence and Myrtle Livingston; her sister and brother-in-law, Edgar and Imogene Everett. Ernestine is survived by her two sons Timothy and Russell Bedenbaugh; daughter-in-law Janet Bedenbaugh; son-in-law Dale Holmes; brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Shirley Livingston; grandchildren, Joshua Holmes, Matthew Holmes, Andrew (Jo Beth) Holmes, Chase Bedenbaugh, and Caityln Bedenbaugh; and great grandchildren, Paisley Holmes, Colton Holmes, and Reagan Holmes.
