Blair, SC Mr. Ernest Traylor Carter, 85, died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Chester Regional Medical Center in Chester.A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, November 1, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Sealy officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Born March 18, 1925 in Chester, Mr. Carter was the son of Buford A. and Clyde Traylor Carter.He attended the schools of West Chester and was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.He was a member of Carpenters Local Union #312 ,Sandy River Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rites and Veterans of Foreign War.He was a retired carpenter. He is survived by a special friend, Juanita Ferrell Dodds of Chester; five daughters, Irene Dickerson and her husband Daniel of Blair,Margaret Varnadore and her husband Ira, Jr.of Chester, Phyllis Jordan and her husband Brooks and Faye Sanders and her husband Ronnie all of Titusville, FL and Cheryl Ashe Bernhart and her husband Lonny of St. Mary?s, GA; five grandchildren, Jennifer Jordan, Jason Sanders, Melissa Roberts, Joshua Ashe, Ira Varnadore, III and Christopher Varnadore; seven great grandchildren, Kate, Preston IV, Jasmyn, Nicole, Miley, Makenna and Peyton; six sisters, Ruby Akard, Eleanor Peterson, Diane Alfred all of CA, Evelyn Gibson of NC, Ethel Dickerson of FL, Mary Edith Sanders of GA and Betty Armer of CA.
