CHESTER: Mrs. Elsie Mae Griffin Beckham, 91, died Friday, October 1, 2010 at Chester Regional Nursing Center.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 4, 2010 at Chester Memorial Gardens. Born in Jonesville, SC on March 5, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Edward W. and Maude Worthy Griffin and widow of Russell T. Beckham.She attended Union Co. schools and retired from Springs Industries as a spinner.Mrs. Beckham was a member of Westside Baptist Church, the Westside Senior Citizens and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary #5930. Mrs. Beckham is survived by one sister, Margaret Sullivan of Union, SC; one brother, Thomas M. Griffin of Heath Springs, SC; and a number ofnieces and nephews.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lola Revels, Susie Corley, and Ruth Wit.
