Chester:Elizabeth Gilpin “Lily” Boyd, 90, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill.A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Saint Marks Episcopal Church, Chester with Reverend Paul Stricklin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM Monday December 30, 2013 and Tuesday December 31, 2013 at the home, 117 Henry Street, Chester, SC. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd was born in Newport News, VA on November 1, 1923 and was a daughter of the late Albert Gilpin and Edith Louise Davis Gilpin.She was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Wells Fargo as a Vice President.Mrs. Boyd was a member of Saint Marks Episcopal Church where she served as church treasurer for over forty years. She is survived by her husband of over sixty- eight years, Alexander “Alex” Boyd and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Thomas Gilpin.
