Chester Mrs. Elizabeth “Lib” Hall Atkinson, age 90 of Chester, passed away Thursday evening at Magnolia Manor in Rock Hill, SC after an illness of several months.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2014at Armenia United Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Wolfe officiating.Her grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Sunday in the fellowship hall of Armenia United Methodist Church. Mrs. Atkinson was born June 25, 1923 and was a daughter of the late Mr. Andrew Hall and Mrs. Eunice Collins Hall.She was a graduate of Chester High School.Mrs. Atkinson was retired from Mr. Quick Foods as a clerk and later worked as a caregiver with over thirty years of service.She was a member of Armenia United Methodist Church where she was a choir member, Sunday School teacher, a member of the United Methodist Women and a United Methodist Youth Fellowship Leader.She was preceded in death by her husband George Waddell Atkinson, Jr. Surviving are two sons,George W. Atkinson, III and wife Diana Love Atkinson and Roger Hall Atkinson and wife Margie Banks Atkinson; one stepdaughter whom she loved as her own daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Lacy of Kidderminster, England; five grandchildren, Hall Atkinson and wife Wendy, Robert Atkinson and wife Nikki, Ginger Darby and husband Jim, Crystal Williford and husband Brandon all of Chester, and G.W. Atkinson, IV of Pender, Nebraska; and six great grandchildren, Bryson Williford, Sallie Darby, H.A. Atkinson, Emma Darby, Simp Darby, and Aldon Atkinson. She was preceded in death by eleven siblings.
