Elfriede Holly Bailey

Mrs. Elfriede Holly Bailey, 85, died, Sunday, January 4, 2026. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.

Mrs. Bailey was born April 20, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Gustaf Holly and Rosa Schultz. She was a graduate of the schools of Germany and was a homemaker. She taught exercise at church, hospitals and nursing homes. Holly was known as “OMA” to all which is German for grandmother. Her grandson referred to her as the “baby whisper”. She always had something to give the children.

She is survived by two sons, William “Bill” Bailey (DellaSue) of Chester, SC and Brian L. Bailey (Jackie) of Center, AL; two grandsons, William D. Bailey (Rachel) of Chester, SC and Logan B. Bailey (Samantha) of Center, AL; one great-grandson, Lucas Perry Bailey of Centre, AL; two nieces, Maria and Simone. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Perry Dover Bailey.
