Edward Lathan Moore

CHESTER-Mr. Edward Lathan Moore, 67,died Saturday, February 21, 2009 at his residence. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Purity Presbyterian Church with Reverend Charles Elliott officiating. A native of Chester, SC, Mr. Moore was a graduate of Chester High School and Newberry College. He was a Veteran of the U.S.Army having served with the infantry in Vietnam and was retired from Bowater Carolinas as a Senior Purchasing Agent.He was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church where he formerly served as a Deacon and Sunday school Teacher. He was a man of warm heart and great courage, endurance, and faith, an inspiration to all. Surviving is his wife, Dianne Hitt Moore, one son, Douglas Rodgers of Charleston, SC, two Daughters, Alychia Moore of Asheville, NC and Lathan Moore of Concord, NC, three sisters, Helen Lee of Blackstock, SC, Betty Nichols and her husband Henry O. of Rock Hill, SC and Frances Hjalmer of Chester, SC, two brothers Hugh B. Moore and George H. Moore both of Chester, SC. , and several nieces and nephews. Also the famiy would like to say a special ?Thank You? to Maria Worthy, Frances Moore and Andrew Tobias. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home.
