CHESTER, SC:Mr. Edward Roland Hargett, Sr., 77, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his residence.The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Chester First Baptist Church with Reverend Clay Waldrip officiating.The interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 in the vestibule of the church. Born December 24, 1937 in Charlotte, North Carolina, Mr. Hargett was the son of the late Henry Rufus Hargett and Helen Griggs Hargett.He was a graduate of Chester High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Hargett was former owner of the Bus Station restaurant in Chester, SC and also Ed’s Easy Out Convenience Store.Mr. Hargett was a member of Chester First Baptist Church. He was also a member of Chester Masonic Lodge #18 having served as former Master of the Lodge and he was a Shriner. He is survived by his wife of over twenty-seven years, Sarah Lathan Hargett; one son, Edward R. “Eddie” Hargett, Jr. and his wife Kim of Blythewood, SC; one step-daughter, Lori F. Waldrep and her husband Marvin of Chester, SC; three step-sons, Keith Finch and Kathy Bourgoyne of Columbia, SC, Todd Finch and his wife Nancy of Lugoff, SC and Derrell Finch and his wife Elizabeth of Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren, Cole Hargett, Sarah Grier Thompson, Byron Finch, Addy Finch, Carolina Walker, Catherine Finch, Cameron Finch, Emily Finch and Peyton Finch and four great grandchildren.
