Blackstock Mrs. Edith Varnadore McGarity died Monday, August 1, 2011 at Chester Regional Medical Center.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matt Horne officiating.Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. McGarity was born in Great Falls, SC and was a daughter of the late Olin Varnadore and Inez Bell Varnadore. She was a graduate of Great Falls High School and retired from the Chester County Library.She was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, Wylie McGarity; one son, Randy Lewis and wife Tiera of Chester; one daughter, Carol Lewis of Blackstock; three grandchildren, Keely Lewis of Chester, Logan Lewis of Blackstock, and Dylan Lewis of Chester; three sisters, Beulah Wright, Linda Roberts, and Brenda Price all of Great Falls.She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
