Mrs. Edith Atkinson Hall, 97, died Friday, February 2, 2018, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 5, 2018, at Zion Presbyterian Church with Rev. Al Ward and Rev. Clint Davis officiating.Interment will follow in Zion Presbyterian Church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday in the social hall of the church. Mrs. Hall was born December 2, 1920 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late James Biggers Atkinson, Jr. and Effie Grant Atkinson.She was a graduate of Chester High School and was retired from Chester Drug Company.Mrs. Hall was a member of Zion Presbyterian Church where she was active in Women of the Church.She loved her annual beach trips with her sisters and was an avid Gamecock fan. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Hall Rose (Henry) of Greer; two sons, Richard Atkinson Hall (Lois) of Chester and F. Wayne Hall (Betty) of Lewisville, NC; four grandchildren, Richard, Tom, Pressly and Joe; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Catherine Brakefield of Murrells Inlet, Mary Sanders, Julia Abell and Nell Lynch all of Chester; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband of over 19 years, Marion Jefferson Hall; two brothers, Rev. Ralph Atkinson and Carter Atkinson and a special nephew, Sonny Thornton. Memorials may be made to Zion Presbyterian Church 2219 The Avenue, Chester, SC 29706 or Zion Cemetery Fund.
