EARL B. THOMPSON CHESTER:Mr. Earl Brison Thompson, Sr., 83, died Tuesday September 23, 2008 at Dorn V.A. Medical Center in Columbia. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday at Barron Funeral Chapel with Rev. Joanne Lockard-Hawkins and Rev. Joey Shetley officiating.Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens. Mr. Thompson was born August 15, 1925 in Chester, a son of the late Alvin Cleo Thompson, Sr. and Josie Mae Bailey Thompson.He was a graduate of Chester High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII.Mr. Thompson was a member of Wesley Memorial UMC and retired as a weave room department manager from Springs Industries after 48 years of service.He was a member of Chester Masonic Lodge #18 and Hejaz Shrine Temple. Surviving are his wife, Cynthia Dickey Thompson; son Earl B. Thompson, Jr. and wife Becky of Chester; daughter, Barbara T. Lunsford and husband Ralph of Chester; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Henry Thompson and Charles Thompson of York, SC,Rev. Raymond Thompson of Rock Hill, and Carrol Thompson and Alvin Thompson of Chester; and sisters, Earline Austin and Pat Johnson of Chester. He was preceded in death by 5 sisters.
