Mr. Douglas Edward Peay, 51, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill, SC.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 13, 2014 at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rick Wheeler officiating.The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30 PM Thursday at Barron Funeral Home. Born January 17, 1963 in York County, SC, Mr. Peay was a son of the late John Massey Peay and Geneva Morton Peay.He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended York Technical College. He was retired from Chester Metropolitan Water District.Mr. Peay was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he taught Sunday School and was a former Elder. He is survived by his aunt Betty Wages of Chester, by whom he was reared since he was two weeks old; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wages Reese of Chester, whom he loved as his sister; two brothers, Johnny Peay of Sherrills Ford, NC, Frank Peay of Clover, SC; two sisters, Janice Hammock of Lakeland, FL and Donice Lark of York, SC; numerous nieces and nephews and a special niece Katie Fischer and her husband Matthew and their baby Tessa all of Chester.He was preceded in death by his brother Rick Wages and his uncle Richard Wages whom he loved as his father.
