Chester Mr. Douglas Woodrow “Doug” Gaston, 79, died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. David Sharrai officiating. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, August 23, 2021 at Barron Funeral Home. Mr. Gaston was born April 13, 1942 in Chester SC and was the son of the late John Woodrow Gaston and Ada Dallas Gaston. He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries Eureka Plant.Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He attended St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beatrice Roof Gaston; five children, Cindy Williamson (David), Bonnie Birch, Donnie Mobley (fiancé David), Chris Gaston (fiancé Cindy) and Trystyn Gaston; one grandson, Ricky Birch all of Chester, SC ; one sister, Linda Estridge(Jack) of Kershaw, SC; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Frayer Gaston and one sister Louise Jeanes. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church, 710 Meadowbrook Rd, Chester, SC 29706.
