Dorothy Elizabeth Humphries Thomas

Chester, SC: Dorothy Elizabeth Humphries Thomas, 80, died Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Lancaster Health and Rehabilitation in Lancaster, SC. A funeral service will be held 2:30 PM Sunday at Woodward Baptist Church with Reverend Keith Hinson officiating. The family will receive friends also Sunday at the church from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM. Burial will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Thomas was born in York, SC on June 12, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Guy Humphries and Cleo Martin Humphries. She attended the schools of York, SC and was a Certified Nursing Assistant with Chester County Hospital and previously worked with Springs Industries Eureaka Plant for over thirty years. Dorothy was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and was actively involved in the ministry of the church. Dorothy loved children. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Donald Roger Thomas, Sr. Mrs. Thomas is survived by one son, Donald Roger Thomas, Jr. (Tammy) of Chester, SC; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Guynell Flynn of Rock Hill, SC and aspecial niece, Louise Hayes of Rock Hill, SC.
