Doris Mary Tant

Chester Ms Doris Mary Tant, 87, died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Denmark Cemetery, in Denmark, SC with the Reverend Don Simpson officiating. The family will receive friends anytime at the home, 109 Foote Street, Chester. Born December 19, 1923 in Denmark, SC, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie and Susan Mitchell Tant. Ms. Tant was a graduate of Denmark High School and Winthrop University with a Bacthelor?s degree. She also attended Marquette University andthe University of Notre Dame. Ms. Tant was a Professor at Lenoir Rhyne University, and a licensed pilot. She was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are two brothers, James Tant of Chester, and John Tant of Walterboro; a sister Betty Bell of Charleston; nieces, Beth Carter, Lee Dorney, Catherine Phillips , and Sally Donegan; nephews John Edward Tant III, James Michael Tant, John E. Bell Jr, Charles Marcus Bell, Paul Edward, and Scott Langford Tant; she was preceded in death by a sister Virgina Osborne and a Newphew Dan Bell.
