Chester Mrs. Doris Brown Caldwell, 80, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Chester Regional Medical Center.The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Purity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Trey Hegar officiating.Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Sunday, March 24, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC 29706. Mrs. Caldwell was born February 6, 1933 in Lancaster, SC and was a daughter of the late Ralph Murry Brown and Clara MahaffeyBrown.She was a graduate of Chester High School, a homemaker, a former telephone operator with Chester Telephone, and retired from Purity Presbyterian Church after many years as Play School Director.Mrs. Caldwell was a member of Purity Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, a deacon, a choir member, a circle member, and the women of the church. She is survived by one son, Paul Caldwell of Chester; five grandchildren, Wylie Molton Shugart, John Michael Shugart, Laura Jean Sigman, Caroline Crystal Caldwell, and Olivia Rose Caldwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was the widow of Frank Ross Caldwell, III and was also preceded in death by two daughters, Crystal Caldwell Shugart and Valerie Jean Caldwell and a sister, Joyce Brown McKinney.
