Columbia, SC Mrs. Donnie Laura Green Stephenson, 78, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC.The funeral will be 11:00 am Friday, June 14, 2013 at Armenia United Methodist Church, Chester, SC with Rev. Allen Wolfe officiating.The interment will be at the church cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC. Born September 30, 1934 in Chester County, SC, Mrs. Stephenson was the daughter of the late Charlie Dever Green and Farria Mae Isenberg Green.She graduated from the schools of Richland County, SC and retired from Diamond-Boric Company as a sorter.Mrs. Stephenson was a member of Armenia United Methodist Church and a former member of Cresent Hill Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Leader and a choir member.She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Avon Lee Stephenson, Sr. ; one daughter, Laura S. Cook and her husband Dale of Chester, SC; one son, Avon Lee Stephenson, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Rebecca “Beckie” DiSanto of Chester and William C. “Will” Hopkins, Jr. of W. Columbia, SC; two great grandchildren, Tristan L. DiSanto of Chester and Farria Marie Hopkins of W. Columbia; one brother, Everett M. “Mickey” Green and his wife Carrie of Chester and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stephenson was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy D. Green and Boyd M.
